Job Summary
Responsible for the direct supervision of transportation services provided from an assigned base facility. Ensure compliance with state, agency, and quality standards [ISO9001, CARF] licensure, policies, and procedures. Responsible for the transportation of consumers to and from CDC and other service related assignments. Responsible for the proper care and housekeeping duties of CDC vehicles.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Fulfill route obligations as a vehicle driver in a safe and considerate manner.

Coordinate attendance and third-party billing with Business Office.

Ensure that all vehicles at assigned locations are properly insured, licensed, and safe for agency usage. This includes participating when requested in Safety Committee discussions.

Serve as a role model to consumers of positive behaviors in the workplace and by appreciating their fundamental dignity and worth.

Assist in the development, maintenance, and implementation of Individual Program Plans developed as part of Adult Services program team when appropriate.

Coordinate emergency closings and transportation logistics for assigned location.

Attend all agency meetings as required and serve as liaison for organization to area Transportation Advisory Council.

Maintain confidentiality regarding consumer information at all times and provide program staff with written input and feedback regarding observations and conduct.

Contribute to the budgetary planning process for operational improvements within budgetary parameters.

Maintain strong communication links between departments and look for ways to improve processes and efficiencies.

Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications

Education and Experience
High School Diploma or equivalent preferred. Minimum of one year bus driving experience. Valid Indiana CDL license. Ability to obtain CPR and First Aid Certification.
Language and Skills
Reading and writing skills as needed to complete proper paperwork. Good communication skills. Update skills by attending training sessions.
Physical Demands
Be in adequate physical health to perform the job tasks required. Be free from communicable disease with a negative TB test or chest x-ray. Must be able to stand, walk, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. Must be able to taste and smell. May require lifting ability to assist with transfers or other activities related to individual. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
Work Environment
The noise level in this environment is moderate. In some situations, the noise level could be loud.
